What you'll need

  • Fence strip set - vertical strips, horizontal strips, mounting pegs and covering strip
  • Ladder or step stool - to comfortably reach the top edge of the panel
  • Scissors or knife - only for unpacking the set
Tip: Before purchasing, measure your panel height (123, 153 or 173 cm) and the mesh opening width, meaning the gap between the vertical wires. Most standard panels have openings of 4.4-6.2 cm (44-62 mm), so the narrow version usually fits.

Step 1: Unpack and check contents

Unpack the set and lay out the components. The set includes:

  • Vertical strips (39 pcs wide or 50 pcs narrow)
  • Horizontal blocking strips (2 or 3 pcs depending on panel height)
  • Aluminium mounting pegs
  • Top covering strip (2 sections of 1.25 m each)

Step 2: Slide in vertical strips

Slide the vertical strips from the top edge of the fence panel until fully seated. Install each strip so that the mounting peg hole is at the top end of the strip, at the top of the fence. The strips are compatible with panels of various wire spacing.

Tip: The manufacturer recommends two installation methods: weaving (alternating front-back) or straight (all from one side). Work from one end of the span to the other.

Step 3: Secure with mounting pegs

After placing the strips in the fence, insert the aluminium pegs into the holes at the top of each strip, so they rest against the horizontal fence wire. The pegs lock the vertical strips in place and prevent them from sliding down.

Step 4: Install horizontal blocking strips

Mount the horizontal blocking strips in the 3D embossments of the panel. For panels with wider embossments, a vertical strip bent lengthwise at approximately 90 degrees can serve the same function when placed in the embossment.

  • 123 cm panel - install 2 horizontal strips.
  • 153 or 173 cm panel - install 3 horizontal strips.

Step 5: Top covering strip

Finally, attach the covering strip to the top edge of the panel. Make sure the locking tab is on the same side as the pegs - this secures the covering strip against being blown off by wind.

Packaging of the top covering strip

By default, the top covering strip is delivered in 2 pieces of 125 cm, which makes courier transport easier. Joining the two sections on the panel is simple: slide the second piece up against the first and the seam is almost invisible.

If you prefer to receive the strip in one 250 cm piece, select the "250 cm long-length shipping" option at checkout. It is available for complete sets and covering strips. Long-length shipping has a fixed cost and is not eligible for the free-shipping threshold.

Common installation mistakes

  • Wrong dimensions - make sure you measure panel height and mesh width before purchasing.
  • Skipping horizontal strips - without them, vertical strips may shift on windy days.
  • No mounting pegs - pegs installed at the top of each strip lock them in place, don't skip this step.
